17 May 2007

Ok, so it's been waaaaaaay too long since we updated this page. A lot has happened, but we were too lazy to update.. The interface to access this page isn't the easiest one to use and we were hoping to have a new, shiny, modern, Web 2.0, etc... -Site by now. Well, that didn't quite happen, yet, but don't worry: we still play concerts and are having a good time!  :-)

About six months ago we did a short tour with an improvised theater/musical that was lots of fun and a new experience for us as a band. We'd sure like to do that again!

In April we travelled to Scotland. Not to play, but to spend some good old quality-time together and celebrate some band bonding. Not, not bondage sex. No way!  :-)

We explored Edinburgh and climbed Ben y'Vrackie (oh boy, the spelling must be way off here...). On our last night we went to the session at the Jazzbar and were invited to play a short set of originals. The Jazzbar is a very nice place in the heart of Edinburgh and a recommended stop if you ever visit the Scotish capital.

This weekend we'll be playing at the SJU Jazzpodium in Utrecht and the BIMHUIS in Amsterdam. Hope to see you there!

13 July 2006

The CD is out!!! I'm holding it in my hands right now! Whew, finally. Just in time for the release concert in two days.

Here's a picture of our "Secret Spices"

You can buy (or order) it at any CD store (in the Netherlands) or you can order it directly from us. Just send an email.

If you happen to be at the North Sea Jazz festival this weekend come by and say hi.

A note to all who have ordered the CD during our last tour: You will be receiving it shortly! :-)

Have a great summer! RF&C

22 April 2006

The CD is coming along nicely. We finished mixing it and are talking with a small and independent record company to release it. So everybody who has ordered one and paid in advance: do not worry! You will be the first to receive the finished product!  :-)

26 january 2006

We just finished recording our segment of the upcoming episode of the TV show "Vrije Geluiden". If you tune in next Sunday, 29 january at 11:15 a.m. on Nederland 3, you can see us performing two of our hits: "My Celtic Sweetheart" and "Blackwood Jungle Is Just One Katharsis Away".

Enjoy!   :-)

22 january 2006

We finished the first half of the "Young VIPs Tour" and it was a great experience so far. What a luxury to be able to play our songs so many times in a row! Some things can only be developed live and not during rehearsals.

We recorded the Bimhuis (Amsterdam) concert and will put out some of the songs on our forthcoming CD. The concert will be aired on VPRO radio on 17 february at 0:02h. If you'd like to listen to us during the second half of the tour check out the dates on the "Concerts" page.

We will be playing for the VPRO TV show "Vrije Geluiden" next week. Once we know when the show will be on TV we'll post it here!

Here are some reviews we got:

25 november 2005
